                   The Buttonwood/Betty C. Black Recreation Area

                    is located at the end of Hull Prairie Road on the

                           southern shores of the Maumee River in  

                                             Perrysburg, Ohio.

 

 

 

 

 

 Buttonwood is an extremely popular fishing location during the annual spring Walleye and White Bass Migration period from mid-March through May. Buttonwood is also the location of the Wood County Park District's only camping facility, a primitive campground open seasonally from March through October and available on a first-come first-served basis. Self-registration is on-site at the kiosk information panel.

Other amenities Include:
  • Picnic tables
  • Large multi-purpose playfield used seasonally in the spring and fall by area soccer leagues
  • Restrooms

Fisherman Mike Williams is from Toledo.  He spent a couple of hours fishing at Buttonwood on March 12, 2005. The Saugeye (smaller fish on the left) qualified him for a "Fish Ohio" award.

The Mission of Wood County Park District is to preserve, protect, enhance and interpret
the natural and cultural resources of Wood County, while providing quality passive recreational
and educational opportunities to present and future Wood County citizens.
