OTSEGO STONE HALL RENTAL INFORMATION

20000 W. River Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402

(intersection S.R. 235 and S.R. 65)

General information:

• Site limit: 120.

• Hall size: 32' x 60'

• One rental per day scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight on even hours.  

• Keys are not used, so renters must set up rental start and end times for Park District staff to meet them to open and close the building.

RENTERS: Your receipt is your contract. Read your agreement, rules and regulations carefully. The Park District cannot honor same month changes to set rental times and does not allow rental set up prior to 10:00 a.m.

AMENITIES:

• Kitchen facilities available, including: refrigerator/ freezer, several sinks, double oven and stove.

• No microwave or dishwasher.

• Thirty rectangular aluminum folding tables that are 30" wide and 6 feet long. These seat 4 people per side comfortably per table.

• Folding chairs to seat 120 people (144 total).

• Renters provide caterers, food, dishes, utensils, tablecloths, pots, pans, and clean-up materials (dishwashing liquid, paper towels). Trash bags and receptacles are provided by the Park District.

• Many outlets.

• Heat and two propane fireplaces.

• Fireplace mantels are 9 inches by 9 inches.

• Running water.

• Public restrooms.

• No air conditioning. Screened windows and ceiling fans only.

• Site can support a DJ or band.

Wedding Parties, please note:

--Otsego is not air conditioned. This is something to consider during hot summer months.

--There are no on-site dressing areas. Restrooms are public access and may not be used for dressing. A mobile trailer must be brought in at renters expense or wedding party must come dressed.

--Tables and chairs are for indoor use only.

--Site limit is relatively small, especially if you would like to include a dance floor, bar, and DJ or band.

--No caterer arrival or deliveries allowed prior to 10:00 a.m. or contracted event start time. No prior day deliveries.

--Site visits prior to event date are by appointment-only. Same day appointments and drop-ins cannot be accommodated. 

Wedding ceremonies are sometimes held outside on the back steps leading down to the river. However, the wedding party must rent the Stone Hall in order to use the back steps for this purpose so that there are no conflicts with renters using the facility.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a bench that is bolted down at the bottom of these steps at Otsego. The bench cannot be moved as the remaining structure would create a public hazard. The bench must be included in the planning of your wedding ceremony if you wish to use this area.

The Park District reserves the right to make changes to all public areas within the Wood County Park District system.

• Special permission required to use a tent on grounds. NOTE: Site limit is set at 120 and renters can not use a tent to increase the number of guests. Guests who break the rules put everyone in danger. Our parking lots cannot accommodate more than what we stipulate is the site limit.

• Grills available. Renters must provide their own charcoal. There are grills right outside the kitchen door.

• $75.00/hour penalties charged for renters leaving after their designated event end time (any part of the hour following).

• Alcohol not permitted on park grounds or outside designated main hall area. Alcohol is permitted within the Stone Hall only for renters who purchase alcohol permit at least 45 days prior to event. (See below)

• Renters and their guests must park in designated parking areas. Anyone parking in the field or along S.R. 65 will be towed. Rangers are law enforcement personnel and will ticket if parking or driving safety rules are broken.

PLEASE NOTE: The online system does not allow same month rentals. Also, you will not be able to reserve for the month immediately following the one you are in if today's date is the 20th or later. For example, to book a date for August 2008, the last day you can book in July is the 19th. The ability to book August 2008 rentals closes on July 20, 2008.

• Fees (assessed on line by zip code): 

  • Wood County residents: $200.00 per day ($150 rental fee + $50 refundable damage deposit) More information below.

  • Out-of-County residents: $400.00 per day ($350 rental fee + $50 refundable damage deposit) More information below.

  • Friends of Wood County Parks (FWCP): $162.50 ($112.50 rental fee + $50 refundable damage deposit. This applies to FWCP members who live outside Wood County as well.

  • Adding alcohol to any Stone Hall rental: $225.00 ($75.00 alcohol permit fee + additional $150 refundable damage deposit) Basic rental fees must be paid up front. More information below.

Renters who want to set up or decorate the day before their event:

• The Stone Hall must be available for rental (in other words, not reserved), and 

• Renter must pay an additional rental fee and rent the Hall for that day as well as the event day.

• The Park District waves the second damage deposit if the caller books over the phone or in-person.

• If renters wish to have alcohol on both days, alcohol permits must be purchased for both days.

TO BE CONSIDERED A WOOD COUNTY RESIDENT for Otsego rental purposes, the renter MUST:

Wood County Service Groups/ Nonprofits & Churches:

• ONE (1) FREE rental per year Monday through Thursday, depending upon availability.

•  Additional use = $50.00 per use Monday through Thursday, depending upon availability.

• Please call Park District Headquarters at (800) 321-1897 in Wood County or (419) 353-1897 to book nonprofit, church and service group rentals for use Monday through Thursday. 

•  FRIDAY - SATURDAY - SUNDAY use: Groups pay basic non-alcohol rental fees as stipulated above ($200.00) and may book through the online system.

Wood County Service Groups who have signed a contract with the Park District:

• Groups (Scouts, Adopt-A-Garden, Adopt-A-Park, etc.) who do service work for the Park District.

• Free usage Monday through Thursday - according to the terms of the agreement and depending upon availability (all meetings must be reserved in advance through Park District Headquarters and re-reserved annually).

•  FRIDAY - SATURDAY - SUNDAY use - Groups pay regular fees as stipulated above ($200.00) and may book using the online reservation system.
