Reuthinger Preserve was donated to the Wood County Park District by Mrs.
Lucille Knepper, a lifelong resident of Wood County in 2005. Mrs. Knepper wanted to insure
that her family farm remained a natural green space, protected from the
urban sprawl of industry that was quickly surrounding the 69-acre family
homestead in Perrysburg Township.
The
preserve will become the home of the Wood County Park District's Native
Plant Project and Greenhouse and will also house the offices of the
Stewardship Department.
The Mission of Wood County Park District is to preserve, protect,
enhance and interpret
the natural and cultural resources of Wood County, while providing
quality passive recreational
and educational opportunities to present and future Wood County
citizens.
